I like Twitter, I love Plurk

6 responses, Jul 02, 2008

Here in the Philipines at least, Twitter still isn’t as famous a household name than Friendster is. If that’s the case, then Plurk must be… “What the heck is that?!”

Eversince I found out about Twitter, I barely use my Friendster account. Sure, I have more friends in Friendster than in Twitter and although they aren’t really of the same kind, Twitter has been more fun for me. It’s been a heck of a job trying to promote Twitter to my real life friends. I’ve only got one real life friend using Twitter and the rest are friends I’ve met online. They don’t get the whole concept of it and I thought, “You guys are missing out on the best of Web 2.0″ And then Plurk came.

Firefox 3 Download Day 2008

Download Day 2008 Yes, I know I’m on hiatus so I’ll make this post short. I just can’t resist but support my favorite web browser.

For all those who still do not know, Firefox 3 will be released very very soon. But instead of the normal releasing of an application, Mozilla would like to set a world record on the number of downloads in 24 hours. So they have a major event called Download Day 2008. All you have to do is pledge that you’ll be downloading Firefox 3 within 24 hours once it’s released. Once you pledge, you’ll receive an email from them on the day of release.

It’s not really called a burden on my part. It’s not an obligation either. Firefox 2, as it is, is already the best web browser and is supported by thousands of plugins and themes. Firefox 3 has more than 14,000 improvements since Firefox 2 making it faster, safer and smarter than it already is.

For those who until now are clinging to the out-of-the-box Internet Explorer, please try Firefox for at least a day and then uninstall it if you still think IE is better. I doubt that would happen though.

For all Firefox users, PLEDGE NOW! ^^

EDIT: I pledged at about 3PM a while ago and the pledge count then was only about 23,000 plus. Now, after about 8 hours, the pledge count is already 95,000 plus. It seems to be increasing by about 200 pledges every minute. Good job Firefox fans! ^^ Oh, and Japan seems to be in the lead among Asian countries. ^^ Ganbatte!

Speed Racer

I’ve recently watched a film which stars several Hollywood actors whose faces I’ve never seen before and a famous (and infamous) K-Pop artist slash actor whose name has already become part of my vocabulary. Every K-Pop fan would surely know his name, at least, if not admire him.

For those who don’t know, Speed Racer is an American live-action remake of the Japanese anime. Well, I just couldn’t resist but disclose this piece of information.

There’s nothing special with the melodramatic storyline. What’s catchy in this film is the cinematography. I’m not a fan of racing but I liked this film not because of the fact that Rain 비 stars in the film but because of the candy-like cinematography.
