Nobuta wo Produce

After being amazed by Horikita Maki in Hana Kimi, I searched for another jdorama where she is in. And in this drama that I found, she plays lead along with Kat-tun’s Kame (Kamenashi Kazuya) and NewS’ Yamapi (Yamashita Tomohisa).

Watching the first few episodes, I found it quite boring as I could not see the love forming between the lead characters. For once, I thought it was a High School romance drama like Hana Kimi. But as I went deeper into the drama, it’s not about love between man and woman (eros) after all. It’s love between friends which is where the drama circles about.

CEP Registration

1 response, Apr 23, 2008

My fellow incoming Atenean classmate did not feel the need of taking the CEP. So I went by myself today to register for the CEP or the Credit by Examination Program of Ateneo.

The CEP refers to the system by which students (incoming freshmen) who feel that they have already sufficiently achieved the learning objectives of a required core course, qualify for exemption from a course by taking and successfully passing a validation exam. The validation exam is equivalent to a comprehensive exam in the course. A student who passes the validation exam and receives credit for a particular course is exempted from taking the course, but not necessarily from the academic unit requirement. The requirement for passing a CEP exam is the attainment of a score equivalent to a “B” standing for the course in question. - www.ateneo.edu

My course (BS Management Information Systems) only allows us to take Chem 1 & 2 and Math 11 in the CEP. Knowing that I have no chance in passing Math 11, I did not bother to register for it. Instead, I registered for the CEP exam on Chem 1 & 2. It wouldn’t hurt to try would it?

Again, it was a hassle-free process and took me only about 15 minutes (excluding the loitering time). As I roamed around the campus, I could not help but feel excited seeing the students, who after a month would officially be my new schoolmates, having their summer classes. And they do not look bored at all. It’s not a very sad ending for my High School life after all.

What’s in Starbucks

You can read it either way: What is in Starbucks? or What is in? Starbucks

Whoever would not know what a Starbucks is could already be considered an outcast in the society. Even in a third-world country that I dwell in, there would always be this coffee shop with a green round logo signifying the class and style that most people of today would like to have. My economics teacher has once said, “It’s in every corner.”

Yesterday marks the second time I’ve set foot in one of the countless Starbucks shops here in the Philippines. The first time has been less than a decade ago and I was with my aunt then. Back then, I only got a slice of chocolate cake (forgive me for being generic) being the little kid that I was. Yesterday, I was with my friends and no, I did not get anything this time. I did not even last a couple of minutes inside. For some reason, I thought I did not know my surroundings. And so I went outside with a couple of my friends who apparently think the same.
